But while cosmetic treatments can offer positive results when performed correctly, they also carry risks—especially when administered by someone who lacks the proper qualifications. One Oregon woman learned that lesson in the most devastating way imaginable.

Gina Anderson, a neurologist from Oregon, wanted to refresh her appearance after reaching her 40s. What began as a seemingly simple cosmetic procedure eventually turned into years of pain, disfigurement, and repeated surgeries that nearly destroyed her quality of life.
