Just eight weeks after welcoming her second child, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt returned to the campaign trail alongside President Donald Trump, drawing widespread attention online.
Since joining the Trump administration, Leavitt has remained one of the administration’s most closely watched public figures. Her latest appearance quickly became a talking point, with many social media users commenting on her return to work following maternity leave.
Leavitt, 28, made her first major public appearance after giving birth to her daughter, Viviana “Vivi” Riccio, on May 1. She arrived with President Trump aboard Air Force One at Reading Regional Airport in Pennsylvania on June 23 as part of the president’s visit to a Mack Trucks facility.
Although the event centered on the president’s appearance, many online discussions shifted toward Leavitt. Numerous commenters remarked on how quickly she appeared to resume her public duties after welcoming her daughter.
One social media user wrote that she looked remarkably well for someone who had recently given birth, while others praised her appearance and congratulated her on returning to work.
For the visit, Leavitt wore a beige cropped blazer over a white top with fitted black pants and carried a matching tote bag. She smiled as she greeted photographers upon arrival, marking her official return to public events after spending several weeks focusing on her growing family.
Similar reactions appeared across Facebook, where supporters welcomed her back and offered compliments about her appearance. Many expressed enthusiasm about seeing her return to her role, with several describing her as energetic and ready to resume her responsibilities.
The positive response stood out amid the often-divided reactions that typically surround high-profile political figures.
Leavitt and her husband, real estate developer Nicholas Riccio, are now raising two children: their newborn daughter, Viviana, and their son, Nicholas “Niko” Robert Riccio.
Shortly after Vivi’s birth, Leavitt shared the family’s happy news on Instagram, posting a photo with her newborn alongside a heartfelt message.
She wrote that their daughter had instantly filled their hearts with love and shared that both mother and baby were healthy. She also mentioned that Niko was already embracing his role as an older brother.
Leavitt thanked supporters for the prayers and encouragement she received throughout her pregnancy, saying she felt grateful for the kindness shown to her family. She added that she and her loved ones were enjoying every moment of life with their newest addition.
The family announcement received thousands of reactions online, with many followers offering congratulations and warm wishes for both Leavitt and her daughter.
Throughout her time in public office, Leavitt has spoken openly about the challenges of balancing motherhood with the demands of one of the country’s most visible government positions.
After becoming the youngest White House press secretary following President Trump’s 2024 election victory, she has repeatedly said that family remains her highest priority despite the responsibilities of her role.

In previous social media posts, she described motherhood as life’s greatest blessing and encouraged others to cherish the experience.
Leavitt has also discussed the emotional difficulty of returning to work after the birth of her first child, explaining that leaving a young baby each day can be emotionally and physically challenging.
Even so, she said she never seriously considered stepping away from public service. Instead, she chose to continue serving while relying on a strong support system that includes her husband, parents, relatives, and close friends.
During her maternity leave, several senior administration officials—including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio—handled White House press briefings in her absence.
Now back in her position just weeks after giving birth, Leavitt has resumed her duties at the White House. Her return has generated significant attention online, with many social media users praising both her transition back to work and the balance she is striving to maintain between public service and family life.
